Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Plain-Language Summary
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy something, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence what we write, how we rank products, or what we recommend. If a page links to a competitor of a product we sell, that link works exactly the same way — the relationship is disclosed here once, instead of repeated on every page.
Advertising
This site displays third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Ad cookies are set only after you accept advertising storage via our consent banner (EEA/UK visitors see the consent prompt first), and you can withdraw that choice at any time. Details are in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.
How Affiliate Links Work
When a link to a third-party product on this site is an affiliate link, it is routed so the partner can attribute the referral to us. Whether you use an affiliate link or reach the same product by typing the address yourself, you pay the same price. Not every link is an affiliate link, and we add them only where the destination is genuinely relevant to the page’s topic.
What affiliate links look like: they are ordinary links to the product’s own site, sometimes routed through a short redirect on our domain so the referral is recorded. They open in a new tab and carry rel="sponsored" marking so search engines and browsers know they are commercial relationships, not editorial endorsements of the destination site’s every claim.
How attribution works: if you click an affiliate link and then sign up or purchase within the partner’s tracking window, the partner records the referral and credits us a commission. That window is set by the partner, not by us; it never changes the price you pay. Some partners pay a flat referral fee instead of a percentage — the mechanics are invisible to you either way.
Editorial Independence
No commission arrangement buys placement, score, or favorable wording. Product pages and comparisons follow the research and review process described in our methodology and our editorial policy, which state explicitly that paid placement in editorial is not accepted. Concretely: we do not accept payment to write a review, to move a product up a ranking, to soften a criticism, or to remove a disclosed shortcoming. If a covered vendor becomes an advertiser or affiliate partner tomorrow, the content published today does not change retroactively.
Your Choices
You can avoid affiliate links entirely by typing the destination vendor’s address into your browser — you will land on the same page at the same price. You can limit ad personalization through Google’s ad settings and browser-level ad blocking, both of which work normally on this site. Declining advertising cookies on our consent banner means ad slots are served without consent-based personalization. None of these choices affect the editorial content you can read — every page is the same for everyone.
